Bird Watching
People might think bird watching, or else birding, is some sort of boring activity. Well, it is definitely not. Unlike other sports, you can share the experience with your family... especially your kids will be very delighted. It is an activity that requires a lot of reading and knowledge, therefore there is a variety of bird watching guides, books, magazines, DVDs and even computer software.
What do you need? Silence, patience, a hat in the summer and a coat in the winter, binoculars and/or telescopes all year round. You might want to have a book, if you are not good enough in recognizing the birds; a few sheets of paper in case you are too good and you are keen to visually share your experience with others.
What do you get? Ornithological knowledge, hopefully an insight on the magic of flying, solitude or companionship (it's all your choice), stress free time, beautiful nature and most importantly - an understanding of the life and habits of other living creatures.
And surely, bird watching keeps your eyes wide open!
