Biking
Biking is as different to bicycling as camping is to bungee jumping. Firstly because it is unlikely to become a family activity, secondly because it might turn up that you are carrying your bike uphill longer than you are actually riding it downhill. Of course there are very different biking trails that vary from extreme mountain biking routes to nice forest paths. But whatever the biking route is it will be challenging and you have to be prepared for mud and dirt.
As any other outdoor activity, biking also requires a good deal of specialized equipment. Biking gear starts with a good and solid mountain bike, which has to be at ease in your hands. You must know how to maintain and repair it, as this will be something you will be doing quite often, depending on the extremity of the biking trails you prefer.
Here is the rest of the equipment you must have: biking helmet and gloves, knee- and wrist-pads as well as a spine protection rucksack.
