Nestled on the banks of the Amite River in Greenwell Springs, Louisiana, (near Baton Rouge) Wanetiri Lakes welcomes you, families, and travelers to enjoy 111 acres of lush forests and landscapes, scenic views from banks of a private 37 acre spring-fed freshwater lake surrounded by ancient cypress trees, two natural sandy beaches, camping, and a variety of recreational and horse riding activities offered no where else.

Discover this "Sportsman Paradise," a wildlife sanctuary, the accommodating southern hospitality given to our guests and old-fashioned natural Louisiana beauty of Wanetiri Lakes. We offer both athletic activities and places for peaceful reflection for individuals who need a day to relax and retreat from their daily routine. As a popular destination for family celebrations, birthday parties, private parties, weddings, receptions, class reunions, and corporate events, Wanetiri Lakes is ideal for those who appreciate wide open spaces, and a place to "play". Small groups find the quaint country surroundings informal and casual. Meeting planners and larger groups limitless opportunity to be creative whether casual or formal in "setting the stage" for their event. Most of the events take place at a lakeside Party Center with 3 covered decks and pier overlooking Wanetiri Lake. Many hosts have chosen the Barn Yard and Rodeo Arena for events planned around horse-related activities or rodeo/cowboy themes.

From the gates on Greenwell Springs Road, visitors find many unexpected opportunities to have fun, relax, take a deeper breath, and a comfortable place to "stretch their spirits" and imaginations.

Wanetiri Lakes offers a Riding Program and 125x250 Lighted Rodeo Arena, Full Board Stables, Paddock boarding, private and group western riding lessons for children ages 5 and older as well as adults led by experienced instructors. For beginners. curious riders with limited experience, and the more experienced, we offer guided horseback trail rides. Cowboy Wranglers are available for children’s pony rides and provide entertainment at birthday parties and celebrations. For the anglers fishing, boating and boat rentals are available to see life from a different perspective. With over 5 miles of sandy, shaded trails for walking, hiking and bird watching one may want to be refreshed lakeside with a picnic with many areas and two pavilions to choose from.

RV and primitive tent camping is offered on our 10 acre campground which includes full water and electrical hookups.
